Prospect House offers catering services for University events including department meetings, meals, and receptions.

Prospect House is available throughout the year for university breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, meetings, and receptions.
The Catering Department is happy to provide space recommendations and may be reached at 609.258.3455, Monday through Friday, 9 am–5 pm.
To request the use of a space, please submit a request through the EMS WebApp, we are unable to make any room requests via email or telephone.
Garden Room Events:
The Garden Room is available for catering every Monday-Thursday after 4:30pm and all day Friday – Sunday. Please request use of the space in EMS WebApp,If you would like to apply to host a University daytime event Monday - Thursday in the Garden Room, please send the following information to [email protected] at least 30 days in advance to apply for approval.

There is a food and beverage minimum of 3,500.00 (plus staffing, administrative fee and any other arrangements) for all University Garden Room events.
After the reservation request has been approved, the event contact will receive a confirmation letter from EMS and a separate event summary from Prospect House with a unique event ID. The event summary must be approved by email for the reservation to be confirmed.

Food and beverage selections may be made at any time once the reservation has been confirmed. Decisions must be finalized at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled event. Selections made after this time are subject to availability, chef approval and subject to additional charges. Special beverage requests must be received at least 15 business days in advance.

When choosing a menu for your event, please let the catering representative know if there are
any special dietary requirements. Additionally, special requests for items not listed on the menu
or a fully customized menu may be accommodated upon consultation with and approval from the executive chef (additional charges may apply). -

Final guest counts (guarantee number) must be provided at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled event. Guest increases requested after this time are subject to availability, chef approval and subject to additional charges. Billing is based on the guarantee or actual number of guests, whichever is greater.
Food and Beverage Minimums
The following food and beverage minimums are required (plus staffing, administrative fees and any other arrangements) for each space used in Prospect House and each meal period allows for two hours in the space except that Garden Room events are allotted three hours.- Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm $200
- Monday – Friday after 4:30pm $500
- Saturday $1,500
- Sunday $2,500
- Garden Room Events $3,500

Events may be cancelled by calling 609-258-3455 and speaking with a catering representative or by e-mail at [email protected]. Please do not leave a cancellation message on the voice mail. Please do not cancel room requests in EMS without notifying a Prospect House catering representative as we do not receive notification of these updates and your event may incur cancellation fees.
The following cancellation fees apply:
- Cancellations are accepted at least 10 business days prior to the event without penalty.
- Cancellations within 6 to 9 business days of the event will incur a cancellation fee of $500, except the Garden Room that will incur a cancellation fee of $1,000.
- Cancellations within 5 days of the event will be charged the full estimated cost of the event.
The updated cancellation policy was approved by the Prospect House Association Board on April 3, 2024.

All events are subject to an 8% Administrative Fee and staffing charges. Staffing charges are based on the menu type, guest count and the number of staff to successfully execute your event.
The administrative and staffing charges are for the administration of staff and management oversight for the function and are not purported to be a tip or gratuity and will not be distributed as a tip or gratuity to the to the employees who provided service to guests.
Overtime is charged at a rate of $400 per hour (plus additional staffing charges) if requested at least 2 business days prior to the scheduled event. The rate is $600 per hour if requested less than 2 business days.

Due to the historic significance of Prospect House, great efforts are taken to preserve the
house and its surroundings. Event sponsors will be responsible for any damages that are
the result of willful and negligent behavior on the part of their guests. -

Prospect House holds a club liquor license. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased directly through Prospect House by an individual member, and the sponsoring member must attend the event, subject to approved exceptions.
All events at Prospect House must adhere to the University’s policy for serving alcohol responsibly. Prospect House reserves the right to refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any guest who appears to be intoxicated.

Departments are billed directly using the University chart string provided at the time of making the reservation. All University functions are tax-exempt.
